Well, I have worked and improved the above little ditty some, and am using it in my workings with Aphrodite.

This has developed into a very serious working with the Goddess. I’ve read up, researched, and now I have 8 pages of votive poetry and spells dedicated to Her, including a poetic pathworking I was inspired to write, used to show yourself in Her presence. She’s a real pleasure to work with. You just need to let go of - ayup - patriarchal expectations/beliefs, about Her especially.

I’ll be posting some to my Poetic Spellweaving blog. And I’ll be working with Aphrodite hard.

Next I’m going to do a similar working with Apollo.

I was expecting to work with Goetic daemons more, but I’m working with Aphrodite. I think what led me to this was a suggestion in this here forum to try for Apollo for an ask. But I first felt drawn to Aphrodite as I was working on some love and sex related hangups, got an excellent symbolic tool to work with Her, and so it went.

Having a great time while I’m at it! I experienced Her energetic presence and it was glorious and very strong.

Working with the Goddess Aphrodite.

I’m using my poetic spellweaving method (which is developing quite nicely).

The system is, essentially, extremely simple: have a visage of Aphrodite before you (symbols/sigils are unnecessary, besides Aphrodisian cults did not really use them. Just make sure you don’t use one that’s been desacrated. A beautiful painting of Her will work, pick one you like the most as there are plenty of artistic depictions). Recite the Orphic Hymn to Her (I made my own translation to better fit stylistically with the further spells), Recite a Devotonal Hymn to Her (to score brownie points, of course! :smiley: I was inspired to write three by now, and I’ll probably compose some more), Recite a Petition (I’ve developed it a touch: the petition is poetic in form, but “the ask” itself is in prose - I’m employing poetic prose, though. The Goddess is very intelligent and bright and can be communicated with without the need for stupid simple sentences, heheh).

Currently doing a working which I was attempting to do with daemons and other entities, but I think Aphrodite will be better suited for me: releasing and healing sexual hangups, removing all sorts of potential sexual dysfunction, etc. - so that I will be able to fully enjoy what I’m planning to work with her further.

Delving into Greco-Roman magick, reading the papyrii, as well as scholarly works devoted to Aphrodite, to go along with all the vibes workings that are prevalent (not that there’s anything wrong with such, as long as they work for you!). Collecting various translations (and I also have a Greek transliteration) of Her Orphic Hymn, so that I may use them for variety’s sake.

I also composed two pathworkings for Aphrodite, one general and one for Aphrodite Philomenides (the Smiling Aphrodite) because she’s a real joy to work with for me in that particular aspect.

My rite to Aphrodite is complete. I have everything I need and am now working the magick.

I pretty much now have a full Grimoire dedicated to Aphrodite, and it grows pretty much daily, as the Goddess is a real source of inspiration for me. I am also inspired to share it, and so I will (I will most probably publish it upon a day, once I’ve gotten more personal experience with the system myself).

I was using my poetic spellweaving method in English, but I felt it could use some barbarous words of power and chants in there, and since I wasn’t inspired to channel my own, I scoured the PGM (the Greco-Magickal Payprii) for such, and found some real gems in there. What I do not like is that they apparently also employed prayers which were coercive in nature. I dunno, maybe it’d work for some, but to threaten a Goddess to “work faster”? :smiley: That’s ludicrous.

Anyway, the PGM is fascinating.

I also made two English versions, both rhyming - one in the romantic poetic tradition, and one more closely following the original source text, ommiting nothing and with very few additions, more in the vein of modern translation practices of ancient poetry - of the Orphic Hymn to Aphrodite. I am collecting various other translations though, I love comparing them and I will use them intercheangably (although I like my versions the most and I bet the Goddess appreciates the effort they took).

(I’ve done some serious translation studies back in the day. Although my knowledge of Ancient Greek is quite lacking, I do have some tricks up my sleeve).

Well, apparently, I have quite successfully self-initiated into the Venusian current and attuned to the Goddess Aphrodite. Her blessings are very powerful and feel like they’re life-changing, especially as regards my - you guessed it - love life, haha. The Goddess is Great.

I devised a rite and am employing it. Since I have a grimoire, I will extract that which is not copyright-protected from it (obviously), distill my system for working with the Goddess and building a relationship with Her, and then will start propagating it (the Goddess is of the belief - and so am I - that we all desperately need more Love and Beauty in our lives at this point in history! So She’s okay with it). I will most probably publish the Grimoire as a booklet, commercially, so you can be on the lookout for that. First I want to test my system, rite and method some more (it’s very straighforward in practice, but required considerable creative effort and research).

The only side-effect of the self-initation was that I was really into Aphrodite for a while there. Like, she was all I could think of (joyously and gladly) and I went into a creative frenzy dedicated to Her, which took about a week. Fortunately, it’s a holiday season, so I had ample time. I will advise in the book to preferrably start the initation/attunement process when you have time to devote to it, like when you’re on a vacation or something.

I am performing my rite and currently the spell for sexual health, libido and freedom of any shadow of sexual dysfunction (some bad experiences in my past, ya see - but the Goddess is glad to help!) and even though I’ve just begun the castings, I’m already noticing results (more ease in my sensuality, more ease with my sexuality, a gradual increase in libido, heck yeah, Hail Aphrodite!).

And the beauty of it is that I came to better understand the method I was developing, that Poetic Spellweaving thing, and I’ve got it down pat now. I will be writing a booklet on that, too, as I’ve also composed a couple spells that use your personal energy instead of calling upon a Diety/Entity, but I have to field-test them properly first (f. in. I have a shielding/mirroring spell that feels promising and could be very handy).

I am still refining my rite and method of working with Aphrodite. I scoured the PGM for chants and words of power, and employed them in the spell part, gives it some proper magickal oomph.

I also composed a little reflective shielding poem, here it is if you’d like to try it. it uses your personal energy without calling on any entities:

Eyeh Asher Eyeh.

I who am what I am,

Who was who I was,

Who will be as I shall be,

Shall now cast this spell

And make my desire my reality

The following spell is meant to create

An auric mirror-shield around my being

To fully shield me and to propagate

Safety and boundaries, my existence freeing

I am now surrounded by a cocoon-like shell

Of obsidian black wreathed in dark violet flame

With a polished surface that sends back to Them

All negativity being sent my way

It is a boundary that shall not be passed

By any eneregy unwelcome and dark

And thus solid and thick become it must

So all negative vibes to its source it’ll send back

It is a mirror unbreakable

Of dark violet flame and obsidian blackness

That surrounds now my aura unpermeable

And returns to sender any projected darkness

It is reflective and unpassable

To any energy negative and evil

And only good vibes are permissable

Through the dark violet-black cocoon primeaval

So it is done, and so shall it be

As I have this shield created for me

Amen.

My Poetic Spellweaving Grimoire dedicated to Aphrodite is roughly 70% done. I have the core Rite down pat and am employing it myself - currently doing a healing oriented working, and am getting dreams related to what I asked for, one of which directly involved Aphrodite’s presence. Looking for testers, I currently have two, three more would be fine. So if anyone reading this would like to try working with Aphrodite, drop me a line and I’ll hook you up with the current version of my public grimoire (and there’s lots of things the Goddess can do for you if you know how to ask). I can give you credit in the finished book if you’d like as I’ll be definitely publishing it.

Testing an Aphrodisian spell I’ve discovered, and if it gives results I’ll include it in the grimoire with instructions.

The method I set out to work on has become perfected thanks to the inspiration of the Goddess and a learned female occultist I came in touch with, who gave me some pointers which were the key to put the whole thing together (f. in. that invocation I posted here previously is now waaaay different. It’s now a proper spell).

The Aphrodisian grimoire is coming along nicely. I think I figured out a way how to make a certain classic PGM spell work, noted it down, and will be testing it. Working the Rite daily.

I have 4 testers of the grimoire now, one or two more and we should be set.

Gonna commision some hawt cover art depicting the beautuful Goddess. If you know of any occult-minded artists who can do female beauty and take commisions, do let me know!

The grimoire of Aphrodite is 90% written. I now also have a group of testers working the Rita and am waiting for their feedback.

Now all I gotta do is work the Rite myself to put some first-hand practical examples in the book.
