Sounds reasonable.
You’re on the right track there.
Plus, good that you’re learning these things now,
without actually having pressure on it,
forcing you to move.
To explain that a little further:
Thinking is a process,
and can be interrupted.
On the other hand,
if you hold a thought process,
while your actually having to move,
you’re like frozen,
and the opponent can hit you,
in that short moment,
like as if you was blind.
In real martial arts,
where people fight physically,
face to face,
that’s like the absolute endgame.
When you’re perfected all other skills,
body movements,
breathing technique,
lastly,
you learn to read your opponent so well,
that you strike,
in the split second,
they’re distracted at.
And it’s a common Martial art’s saying:
“it’s the hit you don’t see coming,
that puts you on the ground.”
So, indeed, that does make a difference.
By the way,
Mu Shin, No Shin,
is also pretty close to end game level,
it’s a state gained through extensive meditation,
(or proper teaching),
and really means having no thoughts interrupting the connection,
between body and mind.
You want to learn?
Drop your attention,
from the point you’re looking at,
back into the eyes themselves,
then into your skull,
along the top of the skull,
back to your spine,
down the spine,
and seddle it within your chest,
at heart level.
Once there,
completely forgett,
that you have eyes.
(very difficult before that exercise,
inside the exercise almost effortless).
Now, while being resting inside your chest area,
without thinking,
without seeing,
by just feeling,
cycle energy up to your brain,
and back to your chest.
Repeat a couple of times,
i’d say 20 should be quite good,
to build a solid connection.
Now,
don’t go back to awake state,
but fall into sleep.
Your body will need some time,
to impliment the changes you’ve just made.
From there on,
it’ll be easier to shut your mind off,
you will have less issues with overthinking.
Also, when someone tells you, you’re overthinking,
in the future,
after having done that,
Answer it with: “No, i’m just aware of more variables, then you are aware of!”
After Sleeping,
you’ll feel similar as if you had grounded yourself,
but this time,
into yourself,
instead of into earth.
That state is normally towards the end of Zen,
so note that you should at least read the buddhist concept,
of the 4 truthes, and the 8-fold path.
Even if you don’t adhere to it,
You’re at a similar level to their masters now,
and should at least know their words and system.
