Odin/Viking Runes: Need Help from knowledgable practitioners of Runes

I made a sigil, a combination of runes, and a spell with it, and I’m looking to learn the exact pronunciation of rune letters, aswell if I should alter my sigil.

[Mod edit: sigil redacted in line with the 90 say rule.]

Here is my Sigil, the runes I invoke unclude UEIZ (It’s been removed, it’s irrelevent, I really just need to know the phonetic sounds thanks)

I’d like to know firstly, should I make every rune the exact same size as the center othala rune and combine them to the center, even if they overlap? Or is this fine, if yes or no.

How exactly do I pronounce U E and I in this format, is U “UH” or “ooo”

Is E “eh” or "ey

Is I “Ih” or “eee”

And having ei would it just become “ay” or not change in pronuncation and stay as above?

So for example if I had Sueiz what it be “soo-ay-z” in pronunciation? or “Soo-eh-ee-z”

Or “soo-ey-ee-z” or lastly even “S-uh-eh-ee-z” or some other combination?

It’s fine. This is not an Icelandic runestave so those rules don’t apply - it’s your own rune-inspired invention -so you can follow your intuition and go with what is the most attractive and satisfying for you.

The more you like it, the more relaxed you will be about using it, and that relaxation allows energy to flow, where tension blocks energy.

The runes are not letters making a word in this case, so you can just pronounce them separately. For an awesome teaching in Old Norse language Jackson Crawford on youtube is great.

Personally, I would read out the rune names. Because for magickal purposes you are invoking the rune meanings, not speakig Old Norse.

E is Ehwaz
I is Isa

UEIZ - Uruz, Ehwas, Isa, Sowilo.

Yeah I know that is the runes names.

But for example Ehwah, it’s stated it is pronounced, when spoken, as a letter, it’s a runic letter, e.

And Isa is i.

So like to cast uruz, ehwas, isa, and sowlio, you’d in theory have these runic shapes then SAY Ueiz.

Oo-ee-iz or oo-aay-z.

I’m combining a lot of runes, in rapid succession, and attemping to combine their effects, which is why I’m not using the full name.

Generally, trying to make shortcuts in magick doesn’t help. It just limits how much energy and focus you put towards the working. You get out what you put in.

I’m not making a short cut.

I literally don’t think this effect will work if I don’t do it this way.

Also the runes themselves do pronounce that way, I researched it, they are letters.

I just want clarifications on the letters, so I can write a spoken spell with them.

For example “Othala” is “O” factually, so you are meant to sound them out, not speak the names of them.

Indeed, doing Othala and then one of the runes that sounds out as M

Might be the source of oooommmm

Othala can also be pronounced as “Oodal” so pronunciations don’t really matter in this context. All that matters is intent. The rest is just dressing up. You do need to double check your sources though as a lot of bad faith/bad actors use Norse runecraft/witchcraft/paganism to spread hateful views though

An AI, a Youtuber, and a book, I read, said the runes are just also letters a runic alphabet.

And the othala rune is sounded as “O” did you mean the word othala itself is also pronounced as oodal?

Or the sound itself “O” it claims is actually oodal?

Listen my spell is Odkth Sluzei.

That is the letters Othala Dagas, Kenaz, Thurisaz / Sowilo, Lagus, Uruz, Algis, Eihwaz, Isa

In this order.

I really just wanna get started doing this properly, I visualize my made sigil with all these runes drawn in it and then say this.

I just need to know how its all pronouced, atm im going with.

Odkth Sluzei v

Oh-d-kith Sloo-zay < Does this seem right to you or anyone?

Or would it be like Oh-d-kith (or odd-kith) Sl-UH-z-ey-ee or Sl-UH-z-eh-ee

Does anyone know for sure?

Runes are also part of an alphabet yes but depending on which Norse culture you’re talking about as theres like five different norse cultures write the alphabet differently. Othala can be written as Odal to another. The same symbol, the same alphabet but pronounced differently. Kind of like “Zee” vs “Zed” in English.

But as I said, pronunciation is the least of your worries. Its intent. When I work with the goetia and do the rituals like the bornless one ritual, I’m not concerned with pronouncing the different names of God the right way. Im concerned with my intent to connect to the HGA through the motions of the ritual.

Well ive got intent, so I just wanan fix this last wee part I guess.

But sure ok, I’lll keep it in mind though.

I’ll just make it Oh-d-kith Sloo-zay I guess, or sloozai

Until someone tells me otherwise one day.

I see. I still think he incantation would be better chanted in full.

Nobody said they weren’t - but that combination means nothing in Old Norse, it’s not a word. You are not using the runes as letters but as magical symbols.

It doesn’t matter, you made it up so you can do what you want with it, it’s your magick and unique to you.
What matters that you are happy with it.

This is more like Chaos magick than anything to do with Norse paganism.

You’re not going to get an “authentic” Old Norse pronunciation out of what’s basically an acronym that is not an Old Norse word, using letter combinations that don’t exist in Old Norse.

Like I said:

Again, look up how to pronounce Old Norse on Jackson Crawford’s channel. Maybe you will spot at least some of these phonemes.

For example;
