Just thought I would share what I think is a funny memory from my past. One day in enforced religious education at high school (20+ years ago) our catholic teacher proclaimed to the class “Hell isn’t fire and brimstone and torment and torture like it was taught for centuries, hell is living without god in your life.” To which my reply (a little louder than intended) was “So what’s the bloody difference then?” A comment which earned me numerous dirty looks, gasps and a few giggles from the girls. I was reading a book on druids and witchcraft at the time from the local library (I didn’t officially borrow but did return unofficially) in a town of 2000 people in rural Queensland Australia. I still live here. But surprisingly they didn’t worry about me in RE from then on lol!
