Learning The Tarot or Runes which comes first?

Hey everyone,
So I’m looking into buying a set of runes to not only learn divination but to also use them for spellcasting.
I was wondering if a basic understanding of divination through Tarot is needed before delving into the runes.
I’ve always felt drawn to the Norse mythology and it’s gods.Not to mention I’m kind of struggling when it comes to Tarot.
I have a Thoth deck and my short term memory becomes boggled by the symbolism.

Also I’m very interested in using runes for spellcasting.

Any educated input (TWF lol) on this subject would be appreciated as always!

You do not need to have even touched a tarot deck if you want to learn the runes. They are different and have a very different feel (at least for me). I would love to see what you think of the runes.

I’ve been reading your Runetastic thread and enjoying it.for sure.

I want to develope a spellcasting system with the runes.

I have noticed as I am doing my Runetastic Journey, that learning the “essences” of not only what the runes mean but what they mean to me has opened up a lot.of possibilitiesfor spellcasting.

The first post I made about runes has links for two videos where you are shown how do a simple but effective spellcasting with runes.

Check out a Handbook of Rune Magick by Edred Thorsson as well as

These are two great starting points to get going with the runes both for divination and spell casting.

As to your problem with the Thoth Deck

Read the Book of Thoth as well, its hard to follow unless your familiar with Qaballah and Astrology but the information is great once you decipher what the hell he’s talking about.
