Kinda gettin tired of this

I don’t like the LHP and I don’t know much about Vampirism either, but I don’t understand why you don’t choose the RHP. There are way more resources on that path. Or do you think the LHP will give you stronger, more outstanding methods?

In the end, both sides basically share the same foundation.

As for Elemental Magick, literally every major system—Golden Dawn, Thelema, Franz Bardon—uses it as the core foundation.

I see you keep asking for huge piles of books but I don’t see you actually practicing anything. Be careful or you’ll fall into the delusion that “the more books I buy, the more I know.”

Stop asking for more books and start practicing.

If you’re serious and want to go completely solo (no group, no guru, true independent path) with a rock-solid foundation, then just read and work through Initiation Into Hermetics (IIH) by Franz Bardon. That’s it.

Kinda cus i dont really talk about all my practices, but im practicing, trust me, just have a lot of free time and want to spend it reading stuff or filling my knowledge, but yeah you are very right i dont wanna do that so ill probably stick to doing what im doing rn and reading that hermetics book just for some info.

What resources did you read, watch and use yesterday and today?

What type of incense are you working with?

Typically, most people use stick or cone incense, which are fine. But to see a spirit form in the smoke, you’re gonna have to amp it up a notch. Resin incense and a good fireproof setup with a good censer and charcoal.

What level of an evocation are you using? Are you hearing the noises and knocks, the names being called? These are possible symptoms of infestation.

What exactly is meant by Structuring?

Who are you trying to evoke?

Have you read all the tutorials? I haven’t, don’t get me wrong. But we need to, they’re there for a reason.

dont have any incense, didnt try the evocation yet becausr i dont have a circle or dagger but darkest said I could practice scrying instead of using those but i dont have a scrying bowl or mirror, im gonna buying those tho. But, by structuring I mean visually strcturing an image or person inside the smoke tha isnt truly there, this is highlighted in the mastering evocation course. But as soon as I get a scrying bowl or mirror, im gonna practice. I wanted to evoke or invoke king paimon so ima do his preperatory immersion till im ready to even do evocation, till i have practiced energy work and scrying.

Approach magick like a child playing pretend: with fierce belief, zero hesitation, pure innocence, and the inevitable success that comes from feeling deeply into the world you’ve created. I don’t know all the barriers you face, so I will share a few things that I hope will help you.

Regardless of the magickal system you follow, the essence of ritual activities, thought-practice structures, and limiting conditions are nothing more than tools to help you:

  • Build authentic belief

  • Focus your attention and energy

  • Project that (Belief + Attention + Energy) into the world to manifest your desires.

Choose a system or ritual that actually excites you. Do not choose out of desperation. If seeing many people succeed with a specific system makes you feel more confident and energized… fine, go with that. Follow the instructions exactly. If you believe you’ve done well, even a few minor slips won’t matter. If you’re anxious because you forgot the specific candle color, just get a new one and start over.

To be honest, when you practice magick, you might not see anything “magickal” in the Harry Potter sense—no sparks flying everywhere. There might be no mystical spirits, no supernatural phenomena, and no physical objects flying across the room, nor a Demon Lord appearing to speak to you.

Sure, those things could reinforce your belief that magick is happening. But if those surface-level manifestations don’t occur, does it mean the magick isn’t working? Absolutely not. Magick still runs whether you successfully summon a spirit or not. I have practiced extensively with Angels and Demons, sigils, and servitors without feeling a single “spooky” sign. So how do I know it works?

The results, my friend!

It works because the results show up—beautifully and perfectly. So, just trust that the magick is doing its job. Prepare your rituals thoroughly and carefully. Follow the guide. Once you’re done, go back to walking your dog. Depending on your magickal strength and the complexity of your request, things will arrive sooner or later. Just leave it be, and perhaps cast another spell to find $5 on the street just to keep yourself amused.

Hi J,

I’m doing great, thank you. It’s a pleasure to connect with you, and I truly resonate with the experiences and the magical journey you’ve shared. The most valuable thing is that you’ve found your own path, and I’m certain you will continue to achieve even greater success with your craft.

I’d like to add a little something here, as I believe it might help other members who are working hard on their own paths. Personally, I believe the core pillars of any magical act are a strong sense of belief, channeled through focused attention and fueled by energy to manifest one’s desires.

That said, this doesn’t completely dismiss the role of rituals or their forms. Rituals are essentially designed to guide the practitioner into the right state of mind—an ideal headspace to build up that belief, focus, and energy so the magick can be more effective. That’s partly why many people still prefer long, solemn ceremonies. In some cases, they might not even fully grasp the underlying mechanics, yet by simply following the ritual, they still get results. Furthermore, the act of preparing everything beforehand—whether intentional or not—forces the practitioner to deeply reflect on and refine their intent to its sharpest point. This is incredibly beneficial for the work.

However, I’ve also seen many overly “busy” rituals that just end up confusing people. Practitioners get anxious about making mistakes in a long list of steps, and sometimes all that complexity just ends up obscuring the true essence of magick.

So, for those of you who might be worried about that, I hope my perspective helps. This comes from someone who has strictly studied and tested magick in both theory and practice: don’t let the form hide the power.

Have a wonderful day, J!

Like you I felt stuck for months on end and couldn’t visualize to save my life. Difference is I used to be able to and have very vivid daydreams as a kid. I’ve had enough experiences in my life to know that magic is real. Long story short I started with Asenath Mason’s Draconian Ritual book and I was working with Belial and suddenly all that stopped. A clear voice in my head said “I took this away from you until you learn how to do it right”.

For over a year I basically had little results. I did invocations and could subtly feel the effects enough to know they were working, but there was no more communication. I did ayahuasca hoping it would help, and I did have some visuals but not the out of body experiences the other people at the retreat had. The shaman lovingly scolded me to be in the heart stop thinking in the head. But it did help open up my dreams. For years my dreams have been thoughts without pictures or sound, maybe once or twice a year with full immersion. After ayahuasca the visuals started to open up but it was still like watching an old crt monitor sitting outside in a rainy day through a dirty window. But I was able to start dream journaling.

Recently I start pathworking through the major arcana, focusing on a couple cards or week. This has really advanced my practice. Because pathworking through the cards isn’t what I thought it would be like. Take the fool card. I do breath work and try to hold the image of the card and pretend I’m there before the fool in the edge of the cliff. I just stand there. Eventually my mind gets bored and looks over the edge of the cliff and I see a valley and a forest etc. Then when I come out of it I write it all down and try to work out what the symbolism means. Pretty basic. What I didn’t realize was how quickly it would improve my dream work and especially dream recall.

I instructed chatgpt on how I wanted it to interpret the tarot work and the dream work and keep a running interpretation of it all. I copy all my tarot and dreams into (after spending time on my own to interpret them. Chatgpt is surprisingly accurate at drawing the same conclusions, but for me it also really helps drawing parallels between something from a month ago and the dream last night, for example.)

Now the reason I wrote this post. I still struggle with direct communication. I did a ritual with Belial a few days ago. I wrote down my dream in the middle of the night and went back to bed. It looked like random nonsense, except I knew it wasn’t. It was an instruction manual. But without taking the time to learn symbolism, dream work and especially learning to let go and trust the process, I would have completely missed the result of the ritual. The communication is there, in my dreams. I’ve had “in your face” communications before, but I had been letting the subtle slip by.

When I made the first challenge, I said “I’m sorry, but I can’t see and hear, I’ll work on it. In the meantime, please contact me through dreams” and it really worked.

I’ve been working in various magics for a little over 15 years now. It’s a lot of research, a lot of patience, and a lot of failure. Just like any art or practice.

You can always request, out loud or on paper, accommodations for communication as Mereoleona said.

I found auto-writing and tarot reading were good methods of communication. For auto-writing, sometimes if I can’t read something I simply ask for the entity to write it more clearly. Some things are misspelled. It takes a little deciphering but it’s not too bad.

You can ask simple questions with a tarot deck, as well (or honestly anything; I collected every paint card at the hardware store, which are free, and use those sometimes). If the message doesnt make sense, you draw until it does. Think of it like a radio. There’s static in between and you have to decipher what’s going on in there.

You could also look into your local area and your personal heritage if you have any connection with it for additional branches of magic. Local spirits that have seen you on your worst and best days, the gravel that you walk by every day, the wood and brick that built your home, they all know you intimately and can also help you. It takes patience.

Put out a teaspoon of milk and sugar for your house wights, for example. You can write or speak to them, give them little offerings or gifts, nothing too ostentatious, and as long as you are kind and grateful many house spirits help bring good fortune.

For my “dagger” I use a fancy pair of scissors. You could also use a kitchen knife or a stick you found outside as a wand. The point is usually to aim and focus your energy, but the dagger has different meanings cross-culturally. Is it a focus, for you? Does it represent pain, blood, power, authority? If you’re not attached to the dagger literalism, you can even use your pointer or first two fingers.

I have very weak visualization, I’m nearly aphantasic, so I prefer non-visualization methods myself since it’s easier to deal with. When I scry, I use a bowl of water and stir in some rosemary until it makes a shape. I let the rosemary settle and interpret what the shapes remind me of. I also use other local cultural methods of divination. You don’t need to spend money if you have just a regular bowl and some herbs.

As a musician, you may be able to use sand (or salt, sugar, etc) and sound. I am very much not well versed in the science of sound nor music, but essentially the vibrations on a surface to my understanding can create images.

You can use anything for divination, and therefore communication.

Here’s some of my other methods:

When You Can’t Sense Spirits

Alternative Methods for the Secret or Poor Magician

Additional things I’ve written that maybe relevant:

Correspondences, Properties, and Inversions

Vampirism, Necromancy, and Shapeshifting

Dreadweaving and Astral Destruction (an extension of my vampirism)

Mottled Magic: My Personal Grimoire

Mottled Musings: Magic Journaling
(I haven’t updated in a long time but it may contain some ideas for ways you can practice)

I don’t know how helpful any of this will be, I only briefly perused your posts, but I hope they will.

Good luck on your journey.

welcome where have you been frlk

Working quietly on my own lol. Everything the past few months has pointed to one major blockage from my childhood that was amplified by my divorce. I’ve had to take a major step back to focus on fundamentals but it’s really starting to open things up now
