Is it ok to perform more than one ritual in a sequence? Many thanks.
Yes, but watch out for what’s called “magickal fatigue”.
If you find you are very tired, you get a bit sick, you feel blocked from your magick for a bit afterwards, you just pushed more trough your system than you are used to and need to give yourself time to recover. It’s not a problem, just have patience with yourself if that happens and don’t worry, it will pass.
[Note: I updated your title to be more representative of the question. It helps to do that to get more responses, and responses that are more to the point.]
@Mulberry Really? I’ve always read that you shouldn’t perform one ritual right after another because the residual energy might clash with the new energy.
It’s more useful to think in terms of what kind of headspace you’re in. You probably shouldn’t go straight from baneful work to love magic without doing a mental and emotional reset first, for example
If I am doing more than one ritual in a day, I’ll generally wait several hours in between. It helps to reset my mind and energy. I like to bookend the day with one ritual in the morning and then one in the evening before bed.
I would encourage you to work from your own experience, rather than just assume that what other people say is automatically true for you. Designing your practice around hearsay and 2nd hand opinions is not how you get to adept-hood - developing your own body of personal practice, is.
If you know how to banish and cleanse properly this shouldn’t be an issue.
To use an analogy - If you don’t clean your kitchen before cooking another dish, cross-contamination can occur anyway - even if it’s days later. You can’t always just rely on natural attenuation of the energy by just waiting and assuming time will take care of it for you.
If you can sense energy, you will know if you should wait, cleanse, or if it’s clear to continue - rely on that more than dogmatic rules set by others.
The main issue I see is, as I said - magickal fatigue. You get out what you put in, and if planning too many rituals means you just can’t bring the energy you need to the 2nd, or either, then you reduce the efficacy of the working, and can disable yourself from being able to do more for a bit as well.
As a general guideline, it’s a solid idea to keep your spiritual hygiene on point, and practice your energy working and raising daily to develop awareness.
I know that not everything others share about their experiences will automatically apply to me, but I always like to gather information before doing something, just to make sure I’m doing things right.
