For thoes of you who can’t get your hands on hand sanitizer here is a quick recipe for you.

You’ll need 2/3 small containers/jars. “2/3 oz”
Mixing bowl.
And
6oz of aloe vera
3oz of rubbing alcohol.

Mix the two, and fill the small containers.

Feels great, kills germs.

And you can make more as long as it’s 2 parts aloe vera, and 1 part rubbing alcohol.

You can also add a few drops of essential oil such as frankincense or lavender to add to the antibacterial properties. Unlike citrus oils, these will not cause photo toxicity in direct sunlight.

u can also use 100% alcohol to wipe things down with paper towel too if you can’t get disinfectant wipes.

I’m not a drinker so u can go use your jack daniels to clean too. hahaha.

Jack Daniel’s has how much? 40%?
Ethanol needs to be at least 70,if not 80% to be used for disinfection.

Also a quick reminder that not all hand sanitizers you can buy help against a virus.
But it’s still better than nothing. This is not the right time to get any infection at all.

People don’t realize that those that recover from the virus lost 20% of their lung capacity or more. So this is serious . Not just any flu/cold. So don’t think that damage won’t be done even if u recover. better to not get it. this is unknown sickness territory for everyone.

I’ve seen the young people don’t care. early 20’s and younger. they selfish. the don’t think they can pass it to elders.

Add in some drops of tea tree oil and it’ll add to the antibacterial function.

If you havent been able to get your hands on cleaning agents for surfaces or air. You can also mix about 3 cups of water, 1/2 c of vinegar with 11-15 drops of tea tree oil and this will also do the trick for cleaning around your home

more drops… need stronger to kill virus.

The more the better itll be. However no need to over do it. But for it to have any type of action against it. Minimum 11-15 drops. This is what helps as a cleaning agent. If you are cleaning your home and try to keep it from being inhabited by anyone infected this will get you by. Though for precaution if you are still spending time outside day to day. Its a good rule to start cleaning regularly to prevent any left behind germs you may be bringing back

Good luck getting a paper towel now of you don’t have on.

U can use small square rags. they sell them in bulk.

or just wash your hands with an antibacterial soap like Dial

hand sanitizer are for on the go. and wipes are for cleaning stuff that isn’t you. lol

Thanks, that was a great suggestion

Might not be a bad idea for people to look into making soap from wood ashes in case soap starts to get bought out of stores. Care is needed though as you are essentially making lye that is later mixed with a fatty substance such as olive oil. It will need to be done outside as the fumes are toxic and the soap will need to cure before use

Or you can buy some soap base now to work with to skip the lye and fat method

If you need a pH neutral cleaner and disinfectant that’s safe for marble, granite, laminate, and wood:

-1/4 cup isopropyl alcohol
-3 to 4 drops of Dawn or similar liquid dish detergent
-Distilled water
-16-ounce spray bottle

Add the alcohol and soap to a spray bottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. You can add essential oils if desired, but I’m not sure how it affects pH.

I clean homes part-time. This recipe is awesome for spilled soda. One of the three cleaners I use on a regular basis.

You can substitute white distilled vinegar for isopropyl alcohol as they are similar pH. No guarantees if it leaves the solution pH neutral and safe for the aforementioned delicate surfaces.

Paper towels are wasteful anyway. Use cut rags made of ratty, old shirts for what you would rather throw away. Microfiber cloths for everything else.
