Help Understanding A Sigil

I don’t understand sigil. There are so many which one do I pick? Are there specific sprits associated with special ones, that can perform specific tasks?

What does that one do?

There is some information you can read on Wikipedia about what a sigil is:

A sigil is normally connected to a spirit, it can be an angel or demon ect. Which one to use depends on which spirit you want to use and what you want to do with it.

Every spirit can perform different tasks.

I don’t know much about that sigil but I know its from the Necronomicon. Maybe someone else can answer this better. Hope that answered some of your questions :slight_smile:

That particular sigil is called the Sigil of the Gateway and it calls forth Cthulhu. Probably not the spirit a person new to evoking should do. You should probably evoke Buer or the Archangel Raphael or something else.

The sigil the OP posted was from a book called the necromomicon, version by “Simon”. It’s generally not seen as a “real” grimoire by some occultists as it does have elements of hp lovecraft in the book. The book also uses elements of old Sumerian religion and magic. The book does work and the spirits will come. For a good story about working with the book, koetting has a story about it in evoking eternity. I think he talks about it as well in some of his videos.

Help plz!!

Do the things you hear say something, and it happens?

Reliably?

If not they’re mind-fill (I’ll get to that soon).

If yes, then whatever they are, keep working them , keep an eye on results.

THIS is where magick differs from religion - a religionist’s “almighty deity” may be real, but it demands faith which is acknowledgement and unconditional acceptance writ large in emotion and praxis, and doesn’t reliably deliver results (due to karma, fate, “lessons” and other bullshit).

A magician’s demon/god/thoughtform may (or may NOT) be “real” but if it delivers results, s/he’s scored and has fulfilled the goal of MAGICK.
