Goetic Liturgy?

Anyone read this book by Kent? Can you tell me it’s contents?

Is that one of the “Guides to the Underworld” booklets? I really dig his Headless One, and Elogap booklets.

No, it is on amazon.com. A regular book by Kent. Never heard of it and can’t find any reviews of it.

I have the one about Frimost and Klepoth.

I asked on another forum and got this:

Goetic Liturgy is an expansion on the Pyramidos rite beyond its Thelemic context and draws heavily on Solomonic and PGM traditions. JSK shows how the triad of Hekate, Hermes-Chthonius, and Hades can be used in lieu of the Thelemic godforms and in conjunction with the Grimoirum Verum spirits to provide a workable and truly Goetic spiritual landscape.

Sounds good to me!

Ok. So I found this on Kent’s group. From a poster there:

so I’ve been re-writing Jake’s South Western re-rite of the Pyramidos ritual to expressly address the chthonic Greek deities already suggested as alternatives. Thought I’d share it here if anyone wants a go or to offer constructive criticism.

For those unfamiliar, Pyramidos is a fantastically useful modular ritual based on a trinary structure. Triangle in a circle, with each point of the triangle representing a cosmic principle: Wisdom (or Balance) in the East, Death in the North West, and Life in the South West: represented in/presiding over the original ritual as Tahuti, Hoor-Apep, and Asi (Isis), respectively. The ritual itself “points” at one point of the triangle, so you stand between two points to strive toward the third. The original Crowley version has you between Life (SW) and Death (NW) focusing on Wisdom (East), with the assumption I guess being you do the ritual until you understand how to substitute and re-(w)rite it to be able to face the other ways too. Which Jake has kindly done and shared.

As has been pointed out (see the archives!) the chthonic patrons most commonly named in ancient world necromancy map onto this triangle, and indeed onto the Chiefs, incredibly neatly:

Lucifer Hermes Chthonios Wisdom
Belzebuth Hades Death
Astaroth Hekate Life

Pyramidos is also useful in that it contains a Confession that can replace the Christian confession in the Verum text (which actually involves using both wands), and even a Mass. Yes, it’s originally Thelemic - specifically, it is at least very similar to the A.’.A.’. Initiation - but there is nothing specifically and/or exclusively so. Especially in this version I’m putting together.

Anyway, this should be far from new to most of us. Just thought I’d give some context. So here is the Chthonic re-re-rite:

The Opening of the Temple
Hail, Pluto! Hail Hermes Chthonios! Let

The Silence the speech of the dead beget

The Key of Hekate flashing here

Amidst the barking dogs of fear

The Nurse of the Worlds, we entreat and hail!

The Sign that guides our souls in flight

O woman, sepulchral, in saffron veil

Through beasts and birds that shriek and fright

Thy Torches guide our way through Night!

South Western Angle of the Sacred Plane
Star Crowned Queen with flames held high

Saviour and Maiden, as coiling snakes strain

Bring honey, bread, oil, and red wine

To our anointed Feast of Light

In joy and beauty, work the Rite

The Lustral Water! Smite thy flood

Through me lymph, marrow, blood!

The Fire Informing! Let the Oil!

Balance, assain, assoil!

Disorder bloods the Moon and runs

Whirling now amid the Suns!

Hail Pluto and Persephone, thy honour’d vernal wife

Who wisely rule the dead and grant the passage back to Life

Homage to thee, Soul of the World!

Lady of the Crossroads, homage to thee!

Thee we adore, still and stirred

Beyond Infinity.

For as the Turning of the Moon,

And the Silence of the Fire

The Beyond here and now illume

As thou hast power to inspire

This is the path of Enodia, Kleidouchos

This is the path of Soteria, Kourotrophos.

Hail, king Hades and queen Persephone

Epsilon and Delta kissed and wed

For Thrice Three Lighting Life through Death

Hail Thrice Great! Serpent staff, winged heel

Beth and Delta and Epsilon

Met in the Shadow of Elysium

And in Lambda did proclaim

The Cup of Mystery and Blood and Flame

Hail, Hermes and Thy Thrice Great fame!

The Eucharist

Behold the Perfect Ones hath said

These are my body’s elements

Tried, found pure, a golden spoil

Incense and Wine and Fire and Bread

These I consume, true Sacraments

For the Perfection of the Oil

For I am clothed about with flesh

And I am the Eternal Spirit

I am the Lord that riseth fresh

From Death, whose glory I inherit

Since I partake with him. I am

The manifestor of the Unseen,

Without me all of every land

Is as if it had not been

For as the Turning of the Moon,

And the Silence of the Fire

The Beyond here and now illume

As thou hast power to inspire
