Solid black or black dipped white candles?
Cheap colored candles like that are usually white with only one or two dips in a color wax for the outside.

You can use coated for cleansing, just visualise the outside coating is all the gunge and spiritual muck, and as the candle burns, and the flame is released from inside the candle, burning it down and away, it removes that muck from you.
