I mean, if the target dying was your goal, then mission accomplished.
However, you could opt to torment their spirit.

Honestly, you have two real, practical choices here. The first is to ask a deity that deals with death to bring the spirit before you, so you can say what you will and try to move on…or not.
The second is to use the spirit signature of the person and forcibly call them back. What you do after that is between you and the entity.

Be sad. Summon them up in a dream or something. Sing and dance. Or be sad I guess.
