But what about circle?

The circle could be drawn on the ground or a sort of carpet, “plowed” or formed with a substance. No need to embellish it, the geometrical figure may suffice, although it’s possible (also for indoor use, of course) to add some elements called the astronomical cross, the external and internal squares etc.

If we are talking about Simon Necronomicon practices I seem to remember the author mentioning that the ancients preformed nearly all their work stark naked and under the open sky. In one of the chapters he specifically mentions doing rituals on top of old temples as opposed to in them. I actually do the vast majority of all my work outside myself. Incense can get tricky sometimes, though. When I want a lot of smoke (situation dependent) I just use multiple coals. You can actually get a neat effect by burning incense blends as their individual components on multiple coals, i.e. instead of a frankincense and myrrh blend put the frankincense on one coal and the myrrh on another. The components all have their own flash points and oil contents, so sometimes the smokes can “dance” with each other. I have gotten some great trance effects with this, especially in low light.

In my opinion everything that people do in a ritual is not necessary or required. The ritual is only meant to enhance the immersion.

Great choice with Barashakushu! So I would draw a second circle around the first. When you call your Watcher place the sword in between the boundaries of the inner and outer circles. Also, I would denote the four cardinal points, especially north. That is where it says to place your altar in the Book of Calling. For incense, pine is easy to find in some form nearly anywhere, so that should not be an issue. If you are in an area where cedar is hard to access then juniper is a fine substitute. Other than that, enjoy your experience! You can get a lot more in depth, but as John Doe said above, it really is a matter of immersion. The only exception to that is that I would perform the exorcism (banishing) in the BoC before your evocation. If nothing else, I consider it the equivalent of preparing a comfortable environment before I have a guest in my home.
