Ethical dilemma of desire and living

Hi,
I live in a city where all kinds of pollution are on rise and people continue to consume more and pollute more. I can foresee that the city will become lifeless with no water and mountains of garbage in few decades. I’m at a point where before buying anything I think very long on how much pollution this thing would do.

How do I deal with the fact that I should honour my desire of having new experiences but at the same time I know I will end up guilty of the consequences of my actions?

Your lack of participation in its demise won’t prevent it, it’s become inevitable.

I know, so go with the crowd and use the resources while they last?
