It is always recommended before Evoking any entity, that you have a clear intention fixed on an end result that the Summoned can help you with, rather than simply calling the entity to see if you can do it. When you speak the name of an entity of power, it does hear and it does manifest before you. It is wise, therefore, to ensure that you are not wasting that being’s time just so you can marvel at the fact that it worked, but that you embed even into your initial invocations the words of action and the promptings towards your end goal so that both you and the Summoned will at all times be aware of the intention of the evocation.
