Basically I’ve started a little experiment of my own and have become somewhat tolerant to fear from gruesome horror movies. I no longer “jump” or “tremble” as I used to. I DO understand it will be nothing compared to the experience of an evocation in real time and life.
Would anyone agree what I’m doing may be a good starting point to eliminate at least some fear for beginners? Being somewhat tolerant to fear for when the time comes to evoke?

I agree to an extent, because what you are doing is desensitizing yourself to scary things you may encounter during the evocation. Am a fan of horror and gore myself and I do notice not being affected as much by things that should have sent me running already.
But one must also be careful to not project such outwards. For instance, expecting some horror movie effects or monsters to really pop up, because there is a possibility that your unconscious expectations are what the spirit bases himself/herself on and actually manifest that and all more during evocation. A delicate balance to maintain, but there you go.
Also, this post reminds me of a quote I’ve read somewhere that it’s not about the elimination of fear, more like how when you feel it, you deal with it and use it your advantage. Stupidly simple but true: feeling downright fearful in front of a spirit when I was still a noob helped me with my breathing and grounding techniques, as well as identify certain tendencies (derailing the conversation, losing concentration, forgetting the goal) I display when I’m scared shitless so I could work on them.

trust me, not all spirits are scary. Also, have one thing on your mind AS LONG AS YOU ARE SHOWING AND ‘GIVING’ RESPECT, SPIRITS WON’T HURT YOU. TAKE THAT STATE OF MIND WHEN YOU ARE EVOKING THEM AND THINGS WILL BE FINE.

OR aim for contact that is warm and loving.
Angelic work is like that, comforting, and sometimes only scary if you are dealing with serious aspects. You are dealing with soldiers afterall.
Having someone with armour next to you is a lot more comforting than something with teeth.
