I was thinking of trying a working with Lucifer, but I’m sure he has a very powerful energy. So I was thinking maybe that would not be best for a beginner like me…thoughts? I have tried several workings with Astaroth but can’t seem to break through.

I have. I didn’t use it to specifically work with these types of spirits. I was in a cemetery in Gettysburg PA and recorded a spirit/ghost of some sort clearly saying, “Hey John!” The voice was very interesting because at the beginning of it, it sounded like it had to muster up strength to say it.
