When I called upon King Paimon, there was only candlelight in my room. I heard some occasional crackling noises coming from my room, but I couldn’t tell whether they were a sign or simply caused by something ordinary.
Later, I felt what seemed like a cold spot on my left shoulder and neck. Only that particular area of my neck felt cold. I got goosebumps, but it lasted only briefly.
Then I noticed a strange scent. It smelled very much like herbal tea. Since I noticed that the smell had suddenly appeared, I tried to focus on it and smell it for a while, but eventually I could no longer detect it. However, when I was ending the ritual, I smelled the exact same scent again.
Could this have been King Paimon? Has anyone else experienced a herbal-tea-like scent when working with him?
Or do spirits/demons manifest through different scents for different people, rather than everyone experiencing the same scent? Is it possible for the scent associated with a particular entity to vary from person to person?
It’s my understanding that their scent can vary, yes. Stolas even told me that their scent can vary depending upon the offerings they’ve been given, especially if it’s a scented candle. Maybe somebody offered King Paimon herbal tea.
I think I’ve only experienced scents all of twice in my many years. Once was the smell of roses, and once was the scent of coffee (which I don’t personally like).
Oh I remembered one - never from evocation - but I used to get cigarette smoke in the basement of a house I used to live in that coincided with the presence of what felt like an old man.
The basement had been used as a workshop at some point, and I figured that was where he was hanging out and just didn’t want to leave his happy place. I think I called out a couple of time and asked him to stop smoking in the basement and it stopped after that.
