I accidentally bought a cursed object. It opened a portal in my home. I currently have it sitting in my garage under a potted plant. Weird things started happening while it was hanging on my wall. My smoke detector wouldn’t stop going off and other weird things were happening with my candles. My friends were acting freaked out. I don’t know what to do with it. I don’t want it here anymore, but I can’t just throw it away. Does anyone have experience with this?

No experience with anything like that. Maybe return the object to whereever you got it from? Wear a talisman you have a magical connection to for protection.
Destroy the object, cleanse the house, cleanse yourself, cast a reversal spell, cleanse again, get protection.

Lot of things in my home are falling over and my cat got lost. What the heck is wrong with this thing. What happened to it? I recovered my cat and he’s fine… 
I can’t destroy it, it’s made of metal.

I’m not gonna say exactly what it is. I don’t think that’s safe. I found the address of the seller. I’m sending it back right away tomorrow morning. I also sent them a message. I’m not easily scared and I’m freaked out.

Bury the object somewhere in the forest. Let nature take its course. The Earth element has a grounding effect draining and balancing the negative energies from the object.

I have it sitting under a pot with dirt in it. I can’t leave my home right now unfortunately. Trust me I hate sitting here with it in my home.

I just smudged my home. I also talked to the first spirit and then a second came out and then another and another. And I took it down because no thanks.
I think there might be a soul sealed in it.
A soul you say? Mmm in that case you can mail it to me if you like, i always enjoy devouring new things.
Or put salt water around it and that should keep it quiet until you send it back to the seller tomorrow.
