I was recently reading a Norse god type blog where the guy rips the would be Asatru crowd for there ‘crossing themselves using the 4 nordic dieties’.
Then of course my brain had to say "Hey; why not do the same with the crossroad demons?"
That should give me something to think on for the evening.
If you’re going to appropriate something from another tradition, understand what it means and then what it will mean to you.
That would be the “why not”. If you can do that, then go nuts.
Not sure i would cross myself- unless I could make it look more ‘upside down cross’- [although I have toyed with ‘pentagramming myself at times’, but ‘throwing a cross with the intent that each point of a crossroad demon being sent or placed’ is abit more my style.
