So recently, I had a cord-cutting done involving my partner and his toxic ex-partner, who he shares a child with. She also has children with other men.
For a long time, there always seemed to be chaos surrounding their child, which would then become a reason for her to reconnect and stay in contact with my partner.
What has really shocked me is that just four days after the cord-cutting, my partners ex-partner and their son had a huge argument that became physical. She then pressed charges against their son. Interestingly, their son has the exact same first and last name as his father, which makes the whole situation feel even stranger.
Could something like this have been connected to the cord-cutting? I know there’s no way to prove that it caused what happened, but the timing feels incredibly coincidental — especially because everything seemed to unravel so quickly afterwards.
The situation has now resulted in their son becoming homeless, and he has apparently decided that he never wants to speak to or see his mother again.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar after having a cord-cutting done? Has anyone felt that the cord-cutting seemed to affect not just the two people involved, but the wider family dynamic or the entire situation surrounding them?
