Maybe research how to write a solid “business plan”, and then spend lots of time and effort thinking it through while you write it. Provides the right list of questions to think through so you are less likely to hit a roadblock.

Check out your local community college as well! A few in this area have seminars on small businesses and they’re packed full of good information!
