This is one of my favorite types of magic, there are many applications of blood magic it can be used for evocation, vampirism, cursing ext. What are you looking to use it for?

This is something I am also extremely interested in! Something I’ve always thought I’d ask a vampyric entity about. Have thought Lilith was most fitting to ask, but I’ve never gotten around to ask her. I would love to hear what you have found out regarding this type of magic!

There´s a book out on blood magic called The Blood Sorcery Bible…so far I have just charged my sigils with my own blood (if you think that cutting yourself gently with a scalpel is easy - it isn´t ! :smiley: ).

Thanks for the book suggestion. I have just ordered it. I am still interested in hearing peoples experience with blood magic though.

I have done some cutting during rituals,… yeah, it hurts but it al depends on where you cut; I’ve found that the chest is the least painfull.

I tried at the stomach and got a problem that I just don´t penetrate the skin, only scratch it…

How much blood to use? Also, to empower the spell/prayers on candles, sigils, etc.?

At the risk of getting a huge ‘Ewwww’ from the guys: I’m wondering how menstrual blood can be applied in Magick. No cutting required and it definitely has got potency.

You won’t get an “ewww” from me. :slight_smile:
In fact, there are several alchemists who claim that menstrual blood and semen are necessary components to creating the actual physical philosopher’s stone.

Nice to see a man who can be openminded about any and all bodily fluids and their applications. :slight_smile:

All I could find so far were dubious stories where menstrual blood is used in love spells, which bears no interest for me. I was thinking about whether it may be used to ‘fortify’ a ritual, or for gaining more prosperity.

Well - being that menstrual blood is the very essence of creation, bringing life into existence. I would be hard pressed to say it is not useful. In fact, I would even assume that, unless otherwise directed by any concerned entity, menstrual blood would even be more effective in some cases than any other form of blood.

There are no things such as coincedence! This afternoon I asked my wife if she would be willing to share her menstrual blood with me. And for that matter I agree with you, DKM! It IS more powerfull then any other kind of blood, for the very reasons you specify.

I was under the impression FMB (female menstral blood) was the destructive side since it is the shedding and that female ejaculate is the life giving?

I use it all the time. I incorporate it into a black paint that I use for sigils, painting scrying mirrors, personalizing tools, you name it. Because of the ‘death’ aspect of menstrual blood and also the containment of my dna, I find it very useful for ancestor work. I also use menstrual blood for my blood scrying.

I’ve read both. I think it has something to do with what your intention is. Moryason’s foot notes for the french translation of IIH says to definitely NOT use menses for the creation of entities.

However, I HAVE read elsewhere that menses is actually recommended for certain operations, even some of which were benevolent.

So - I guess it really depends on how, what, when, intention, who, etc. Seems to be much more dynamic than your usual ingredient or substance. I would be quite interested to find an essay explaining the how and why behind this.

I’ve read in other books that magicians must avoid the use of menstrual blood for the creation of entities but I’ve been using it for more than two years with success, and for other operations of course, not just for the creation of entities.

As for its use for benevolent operations, what I do is that I about 5-6 days before menstruation, I meditate with a specific goal in mind. Something like “charging” myself with the intent of the operation. I visualize every tissue/organ that takes part in the process of menstruation and I charge it with my intent as I charge myself.
For me it is similar with the charging of water or other substances.

For some reason, I’m getting the impression that Azazel likes menstrual blood too. I don’t know if this is personal, or a general thing that he likes. He wanted me to paint his sigil using some of my special paint though.

I make it by mixing menstrual blood, myrrh (I grind it to a powder), opium tincture, red wine, vodka, and poke berry juice. I used a blackthorn to paint his sigil with this blend. This is my personal recipe, no idea why but I got the impression from him that it needed to be shared.
