Bardon's Step 4: Experienceing other as self

Will someone provide extensive detail on Franz Bardon’s step four, experiencing other as self. He basically says that consciousness is space-less and and timeless. However transplantation of consciousness seems more akin to a form of samadhi that all the yogis talk about about where subject and object merge. He says you must do it with your eyes open. The problem with using the senses to experience the transplantation of consciousness is that the senses repel objects and never allow us to merge with them. To use an analogy, it is like negative repelling negative. Will someone please help me out?
