Hi all,
I’ve always been interested in the unseen world, psychic abilities, energy healing, etc. but just in the past few months I’ve been learning more about the occult, different authors, approaches, and teachers.
After learning a bit I’m mostly drawn to two systems: Gallery of Magick and Jason Miller (strategic sorcery, Sorcery of Hecate). I’m finding that I’m having a bit of analysis paralysis however on figuring out which system to go with for different reasons.
I like GOM because it offers a wide variety of rituals, seems practical and not requiring a ton of tools, and appears beginner friendly but sometimes I see people report mixed results.
I’m drawn to Jason because he’s practical, very experienced, to the point, offers beginner courses, and Sorcery of Hecate is a complete magickal system. I like his “get to know the locals” offerings approach and I’ve always liked meditation/qigong and I appreciate his eastern studies.
Side note: I’ve considered maybe just combining? Doing a bit of this and that? I may be wrong so don’t quote me but I think I read somewhere that someone tried Hecate work or protection–and then tried GOM at the same time and experienced some noticeable disruption. They were unsure if the systems were compatible but again I could be wrong about this (it’s been awhile since I read that post).
Should I start with GOM and later move into Jason’s Hecate work or should I just pick one and then really focus in on that?
Does anyone have thoughts on this? Thank you
