Ascension to me always comes off as people trying their hardest to escape who they are to become what they perceive to be “better” a better to be something else than to be yourself kind of thing. Such as ascension to being soul wise something else. While I don’t necessarily consider the general concept “bad” but under the mentality of different is better yes.
