What should vegan witches do? I am very connected to nature and animals. Can we buy rests of a toad? Or replace it with some plant or crystal?

Not sure what being vegan has to do with this, you do not consume the sacrifice of this ritual. There are more than a few posts in kurtis’s on other threads that have gone over the various reasons for the sacrifces in some of these rituals. Quite a few of the alchemical rituals later in the work within BmoA require a sacrifice of one kind or another.
Vegan is a holystic concept. Its not just about not eating meat it has to do with protecting animals and not harming them. Of course it would be something else if a toad would bite me trying to harm me
